FileCloud Has What Amazon WorkDocs Lacks
Everyone knows about Amazon, of course. In fact, you might assume that Amazon WorkDocs has all you need in a CCP (Content Collaboration Platform); they’re actually lacking certain key features that we at FileCloud consider necessary.
The Importance of Integrations
Did you know that switching between apps can cost you not only irritation but significant time as well? It can take nearly 10 minutes to get back into a workflow when switching between apps. That’s why using a CCP that has multiple integrations available is so critical. While Amazon does allow users to collaborate on Office 365 files, it doesn’t have other integrations available that FileCloud provides.
Users can remain in FileCloud’s hyper-secure environment while still using the apps and tools they love, including:
• Office 365, Google Docs, OnlyOffice
• Wasabi, Scality, Alibaba Cloud
• Gmail, Outlook, MS Teams
• Salesforce, Okta, OneLogin
• And more!
FileCloud’s Compliance Center
Compliance is a vital aspect of nearly every enterprise and business organization. Failure to comply with regulations could result in fines, penalties, and jail time. However, complying with these regulations can take an enormous amount of time. That’s why it’s vital that your CCP has compliance tools and options.

Amazon WorkDocs has limited compliance options, and companies must have a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with them for HIPAA eligibility.
FileCloud, however, has an entire Compliance Center with separate tabs for HIPAA, ITAR, and GDPR. The Compliance Center helps connect complicated regulations with FileCloud’s security options and best practices, allowing companies to ensure their compliance even with ever-changing regulations.
Retention Policies
Retention policies allow enterprises to control who is editing, deleting, or changing important data. Amazon WorkDocs only has one type of retention policy available, where files are not allowed to be deleted for up to one year. This doesn’t help, however, with certain regulations (like HIPAA) where files need to be kept for over six years.
FileCloud however, has five different types of retention policies available including:
• Admin Hold: Outranks all other policies and prevents any update or delete of digital content for an indefinite period of time.
• Legal Hold: Freezes digital content to aid discovery or legal challenges. During a legal hold, file modifications are not allowed.
• Retention: Identifies digital content to be kept around for an unlimited amount of time before being deleted or released.
• Archival: Moves and stores old organizational content for long term. No deletion is allowed until a specified time period is reached. After this time, content is moved to a specific folder.
• Trash Retention: Can be configured for automatic and permanent deletion of all files in the Trash bins or to expire with no action.
In case of conflicting policies, FileCloud always enforces the policy that best protects and stores the data.
